Meeting of CIGEPS has started in Paris under the chairmanship of Minister Farid Gayibov
On October 27, the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport (CIGEPS) began at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, the capital of France. Due to the pandemic, the event, which has been held online since 2019, is taking place in a physical format for the first time in 3 years. The meeting is chaired by the Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, Farid Gayibov.
The meeting, which will last for two days, was opened by Gabriela Ramos, Assistant Director General of UNESCO for Social and Human Sciences, and then by the Chair of CIGEPS, Farid Gayibov.
The meeting will discuss a number of important issues on the Committee's agenda, the state of sport following the COVID-19 pandemic, the Final Declaration to be adopted by MINEPS VII and the revision of the CIGEPS working groups and the Rules of Procedure of CIGEPS.
In the margins of the Committee meeting there is envisaged the signing of the host country agreement with UNESCO regarding the International Conference of Ministers and Senior Officials Responsible for Physical Education and Sport that will be held on March 14-17, 2023 in Baku.
